Marriage Works

In the course of my ministry in service God and His church, I have been confronted with the reality that there are followers of Christ struggling in their marriages. I have faced people that have abandoned their families, committed adultery, filed bankruptcy--one tragedy after another.  It is why my wife and I feel so strongly to address the enemy strongholds that are bringing defeat to our marriages and relationships.  This Sunday, Angela and I will be confronting the sin of adultery and unfaithfulness with the strength and hope of God's Word.  It is a message that everyone--single, married, high-schooler, senior adult needs to hear.  We will give practical insight, biblical instruction, and words of encouragement.  My prayer is that God will give to those in need hope and strength to face the challenges and experience the victory that only Christ can bring.

The Morning View

This morning I felt the need to find the highest vantage point in Manhattan--a place where I could see the city.  I found it!  I sat in my car looking at Manhattan and K-State.  I thought of Jesus looking toward the city of Jerusalem.  As I looked I prayed.  It is so easy to insulate ourselves as Christians to the desperate spiritual need of those that do not attend our worship services.  Out of sight, out of mind.  But, the people are never out of the mind of God.  He loves the city and loves the people, even those lost in their sin--those that have no concern for God.  As I looked upon Manhattan I prayed that God would give me His heart, His passion for the lost of our community.  May he stir in us a passion to live and teach Christ--the only hope.
