The Spirit's Fire - Part One
Next Sunday, God willing, I will be preaching on a message about the Spirit's Fire--more specifically, the admonishment from the Apostle Paul that we are not to put out the Spirit's Fire in our lives. My initial thought about what Paul wrote centers on passion for the cause of Christ. It is easy to allow the stressing and stuff of life to dampen our enthusiasm for Jesus. Prayer and Bible study seems to be crowded out of our busy lives. What should happen--what should we do?
What do you think?
Just like working on a marriage to make it work by remembering what made us fell in love in the first place we have to remember what made us believe in Jesus in the beginning. I think in everything you want to go good you have to invest some work. In my case I'm questioning things often, but not out of unbelieve. Just so I can get the Word out and look up the answer that reassured what I thought in the first place. The same thing with marriage. My husband has been gone to war for 3 out of the past 5 years and sometimes I'm wondering why I said "Yes, I do" in the first place. And then I remember that God brought us together and we are meant to be together. The same thing with Christ. God made us see the truth because we are meant to be together with Him. We just got to remind ourselves sometimes...
